Pálinka is not only a traditional national drink, but also a true Hungaricum

For Hungarians, pálinka is not just a drink, but also a symbol of Hungary – a Hungaricum. It is always present at major festivals and gastronomic events. Pálinka is protected by Hungarian and EU law, only fruit spirits fermented from fruit harvested and bottled in Hungary can be called pálinka. Every year in Hungary there are festivals and competitions related to pálinka.
