Tokaj Region, Hungary – the birthplace of the wine of kings

Tokaj wine region is considered as the historic wine-producing area of Hungary and in 2002 UNESCO added the Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape to the list of World Heritage Sites. It was a hundred of volcanoes land, a wide variety of rock and soil types has created some of the most unique and highly regarded wines in the world. With the vineyards stretching on the mountain, or the unique cellar systems at Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region, tourists can enjoy the special area. Tokaji aszu is one of the most unique sweet wines in the world, and called “Tokaji, the king of wines and the wine of kings” by King Louis XIV.
